Even during the precipitous travel downturn during the ongoing pandemic, Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport has continued its makeover, adding a beer garden in March, Bronzeville-themed shop in August and a revamped Mitchell Gallery of Flight and USO area that same month.

This week, MKE has announced the opening of a No Boundaries retail store in the main terminal.

Operated by Paradies Lagardère, which owns the concession rights at the airport, the shop sells a mix of clothing, outerwear, equipment and accessories from outdoor-focused brands like  Aventura, Columbia and KÜHL, among others.

It also sells outdoorsy gift ideas like CamelBak water bottles and Atomicchild’s graphic socks that depict the great outdoors, according to a press release issued Wednesday.

“With more people seeking outdoor destinations for leisure travel this winter, we couldn’t picture a better time to welcome No Boundaries to Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport,” said Airport Director Brian Dranzik.

“Whether you’ve come here to hit the snow-covered slopes, do some cold-weather camping, or if you’re simply trying to enjoy some time outside -- No Boundaries has the gear to meet the needs of travelers who crave adventure.”

According to the release, No Boundaries was built out with "sustainable, energy-efficient materials. The graphics displayed throughout the store serve to inspire and remind travelers of all the great outdoor destinations Wisconsin has to offer such as Lake Superior, Devil’s Lake State Park, Milwaukee’s Pierhead Lighthouse and more."

The shop is open every day from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. It is located next to the Summerfest Marketplace.
