AJR may have had to cancel their headliner gig at Summerfest this past year, but they've made it up to the Big Gig and their Milwaukee fans, booking a new festival-headlining show at the Amp on the Fourth of July next summer.
The "Bang!" and "Burn the House Down" hitmakers will be joined on their Summerfest stop by special guest Carly Rae Jepsen of "Call Me Maybe" and "Run Away With Me" fame.
AJR last played Milwaukee in 2022, hitting the American Family Insurance Amphitheater after demand outgrew the gig's original location at the BMO Pavilion. The band of literal brothers – Adam, Jack and Ryan Met – were set to return to the Amp this past summer, originally just opening for Imagine Dragons before shifting into a headliner spot of their own to replace the late great Jimmy Buffett in the lineup. However, the band had to cancel the show to spend time with their father, who was battling illness and passed away just a few days after they stepped away from touring.
Tickets for the AJR/Carly Rae Jepsen Summerfest show will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. online at Ticketmaster.com and Summerfest's website, as well as in person at the Amp box office.
With today's announcement, the Big Gig currently has five of its nine Amp headliners booked for 2024:
