J. Leinenkugel's Barrel Yard is headed on the road, trading out chucking baseballs for chucking axes as the brewery and restaurant has joined forces with AXE MKE for a special evening of beer tasting and blade throwing next month.
Hosted at the East Side bar on Monday, Dec. 11, Brewers, Bullseyes and Brews – a part of AXE MKE's tasting series – will serve attendees special small-batch brews courtesy of the creative minds at J. Leinenkugel's Barrel Yard along with sharp snack pairings. And speaking of sharp, while attendees are snacking on these special beers and pairings, they'll also be getting a taste of AXE MKE's addictive axe-throwing action, learning how to play the popular activity and how to hopefully land some bullseyes as the night goes along.
"We are so excited to be partnering with J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard at American Family Field for this event," said Bars & Recreation Vice President Erin Hochevar. "Our goal is to create an unforgettable evening where participants can try exceptional brews, explore flavor pairings, and discover the exhilaration of axe throwing. It's a unique fusion of adventure and taste that promises to leave lasting memories."
In addition serving Leinenkugel's Juicy Peach (paired with meat and cheese skewers) and Dark Lager (paired with mini lil gem salads), Brewers, Bulleyes and Brews will feature two of the Barrel Yard's pilot beers amongst its tasting offerings: its harvest lager matched with pretzel bites along with its smoked cherry lager served with biscuits and honey.
Tickets for the night of hops and axe heaves cost $49 a person, with reservations for the 6:30 p.m. event now available at AXE MKE's website. For more information, click here.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
