It was a downright voting battle this year for Milwaukee's best chef. But, you cast your vote for multi-year James Beard nominee, Justin Carlisle, chef and owner of Ardent, 1751 N. Farwell. Whether it's his innovative take on Wisconsin seasonal cuisine or his talent for ramen slinging on the weekend at Ardent's alter-ego, Red Light Ramen, he's captured your hearts with his unique style and artful technique.
Impressively, Carlisle (very) narrowly edged out James Beard Award winner, Justin Aprahamian of Sanford, for the top spot. Meanwhile a chef and chef-duo tied for third place -- with the same number of votes going to Chef Thomas Hauck of c.1880 and talented chef duo Ross Bachhuber & Daniel Jacobs of Odd Duck.
