If you turn on the Food Network tonight, you just might catch an episode of "Top 5 Restaurants" featuring some of the best bar food in the country, including food from Milwaukee Brat House, 1013 N Old World 3rd St.
The show, which is hosted by Sunny Anderson and Geoffrey Zakarian finds the hosts scouring the country in search for the Nation’s best cuisine. In the "Best Bar Food" episode, the focus will be on beer-soaked sausages, crispy chewy wings, succulent ribs and fully loaded potatoes.
In celebration of their appearance on the show, the Brat House will host a viewing party at the restaurant during which customers are invited to help themselves to a free brat buffet while watching the show, which airs at 9:30 p.m.
"As always, we are honored with the recognition," says Andrew Fronek, owner and operator of the Brat House. "And we appreciate being able to bring more positive national spotlight to the city we love!"
Can’t make it tonight? The show airs again on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 12:30 a.m. and Saturday, Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
Lori is an avid cook whose accrual of condiments and spices is rivaled only by her cookbook collection. Her passion for the culinary industry was birthed while balancing A&W root beer mugs as a teenage carhop, fed by insatiable curiosity and fueled by the people whose stories entwine with each and every dish. She’s had the privilege of chronicling these tales via numerous media, including OnMilwaukee and in her book “Milwaukee Food.” Her work has garnered journalism awards from entities including the Milwaukee Press Club.
When she’s not eating, photographing food, writing or recording the FoodCrush podcast, you’ll find Lori seeking out adventures with her husband Paul, traveling, cooking, reading, learning, snuggling with her cats and looking for ways to make a difference.
