Supporting local restaurants that we love is more crucial than ever. We know this. We do this. But now, OnMilwaukee organized a new way to focus our support, one local restaurant at a time.
"Cash Mob MKE" is a weekly event – dare we call it a movement – that encourages folks to order takeout, curbside or delivery food at the same place on the same evening. The goal is to provide the restaurant with a stellar, sellout night, and in return, we get a delicious meal made with local love.
The first "Cash Mob MKE" will descend this Friday, Jan. 15 on Goodkind, 2457 S. Wentworth Ave., in Bay View. Goodkind's name, mission, cuisine and ownership exemplify exactly what "Cash Mob MKE" plans to achieve: one flush night for the good folks behind a great food spot.
Goodkind menu items for Friday include a combination of plates (walleye sandwich, crab pasta, vegan pasta, Philippine chicken adobo), small plates (Champagne-battered mushrooms, Ponchetta Stromboli, Brussels sprout salad, etc.) and beer-battered French fries with an array of desserts (lavender blueberry hand pie, chocolate ice cream with a gingernut swirl, etc.) also available.
Goodkind also offers cocktails (alcoholic and NA), cocktail kits, wine, beer and a plethora of other hot and cold beverages.

Goodkind opened its doors in 2014 and has since built a reputation for serving delicious, creative food in a smart, cozy and welcoming space. The eatery is a collaborative venture between Paul Zerkel, Lisa Kirkpatrick, Katie Rose, and Jessica and William (B.J.) Seidel, all of whom are committed to sustainability and reducing waste (food is packaged in compostable and biodegradable serveware) as well as ending food insecurity with programs like "Plate it Forward," a $5 community effort that provided free meals for Milwaukeeans in need.
