Why rush back into the grind after the holidays? Instead, push off the resolutions and give yourself an extra day of holiday relaxation with a very special brunch at one of Milwaukee’s newest eateries.
Central Standard Crafthouse & Kitchen, 320 E. Clybourn St., will be offering a special “resolution free” New Year’s Day brunch on Saturday, Jan. 1 (along with their regular Sunday brunch on Jan. 2)
“We’re going to strictly enforce the unwritten rule that New Year’s resolutions cannot start on a weekend,” says co-owner Pat McQuillan, noting that the special brunch will include offerings like the restaurant’s popular bottomless Door County Cherry Vodka “mimosas," a riff on the classic screwdriver featuring Central Standard’s housemade Door County Cherry Vodka, orange juice, seltzer and garnished with a fresh orange slice.
On the brunch menu, guests will find Central Standard hash (house-herbed potatoes, two eggs, Hook’s Swiss, arugula, Red Cabin Bourbon caramelized onions and 24-hour braised beef); chicken and waffles served with Red Cabin Bourbon compound butter; and housemade chilaquiles with roasted salsa roja, tomatillo salsa, sunny side eggs and Farm Happy cilantro microgreens.
Resolution free brunch also features raffle prizes, including Central Standard swag, a month’s worth of free Central Standard mocktails redeemable during the month of January; and a complimentary Green Bay watching party in the distillery’s private Founders Room event space.
“After the 2021 we’ll all have survived, we think everyone in Milwaukee deserves at one more brunch, a round of cocktails and a chance to win some free SWAG,” says co-owner Even Hughes. “Resolutions and the more serious stuff of the New Year can wait until Monday, the 3rd.”
Brunch at the Crafthouse will be served Jan. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular Sunday brunch will resume Jan. 2 with hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A special New Year’s Day happy hour will also take place from 3:20 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1.
