This article originally ran in 2020. Happy National Margarita Day!
Milwaukee has no shortage of margarita options, but we got a little nostalgic today for National Margarita Day. Which margs do you miss?
1. Cempazuchi's "Tequila Mockingbird"
Made to order, this marg was unique and refreshing. It included El Tesoro silver tequila, cucumber water, triple sec and a rim dusted with jicama salt. We're certain Harper Lee would've approved.
2. La Perla's "Coronarita"
This combination of a Coronita (small Corona bottle) upside-down in a margarita of the drinker's choice was perfect for those desiring a less-sweet margarita. It was the fruity sibling of the michelada.
3. La Fuente in Walker's Point house margarita
Sure, you can still get this margarita at the La Fuente on the West Side, but we miss La Fuente's margarita while sitting on the 5th Street patio. It's just not the same anywhere else.
