Opening Day is almost here, and that means another opportunity to cheer on the Brewers while enjoying the company of friends or a day out with the family. Inevitably, that also means sunny days filled with cold brews, hot dogs and other ballpark worthy fare.
Whether you’re planning to attend the April 3 home opener (Brewers vs. the Mets) another game this season, here’s what you need to know about what’s new at American Family Field.
More affordable eats
A day at the ballpark offers the opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime. But the costs involved in attending a game – particularly with a family in tow – can be prohibitive.
Fortunately, there’s great news for value-seekers in 2023. The Brewers are rolling out a brand new 414 Menu, which offers numerous popular items for a set price of just $4 at 12 different concession stands throughout the ballpark. The 414 Menu offerings include the junior hot dog, junior nachos, Cracker Jack and 16 ounce sodas.
In addition, the Brewers are reducing prices on more than 15 additional food items, providing more value options for fans at concession stands throughout the park.
Value items include:
- 16 ounce domestic beer
- craft cocktails
- kettle corn
- peanuts
- cotton candy
- popcorn
- licorice and other candies
- Minute Made frozen cups
- custard (large size, served in a helmet)
- Cracker Jack (which is part of the 414 Menu).
Sunday is Family Fun-Day
Of course, one of the best values offered for the season are the Brewers Sunday Fun-Day Bundles, available for all Sunday home games. The bundles come complete with four Terrace Outfield tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and one general parking pass for just $59. Up to eight additional tickets (maximum of 12) may be added to the package to accommodate larger groups and families. Get your Sunday Fun-Day Bundle here.
New concessions
Of course, a new season of baseball wouldn’t be complete without a few new concessions. Joining the new concession stands powered by Blue’s Egg, Story Hill BKC, and Maxie's, which debuted in 2022, the ballpark has also introduced three new offerings which will be available at stands throughout the ballpark.
Offerings include a Philly cheese steak sandwich, elote tater tots and the elote hot link, topped with all the fresh elote-inspired toppings.
New chef-inspired offerings
After the successful debut of elevated ballpark options created through a collaboration with Chef Joe Muench of James Beard honoree, Black Shoe Hospitality, in 2022, the Brewers are continuing that partnership with two new items inspired by Buttermint Finer Dining and Cocktails. The offerings will be available on the Club Level.
Items include a Steak Diane Sandwich, inspired by the classic dish featuring filet mignon with a buttery rich Cognac sauce, topped off with crispy onion strings.
There’s also a Swedish Meatball Bomber, which wraps up all the flavors of classic Swedish meatballs inside a convenient hand-held sandwich.
Also debuting on the Club Level are three new sandwich creations resulting from a collaboration with two-time James Beard nominee Karen Bell of Bavette La Boucherie, which will be available at The Carvery.
Offerings include a rosemary ham sandwich, as well as a BBQ pork sandwich (topped off with creamy slaw), both served with chips and a deli-style pickle.
A roast beef sandwich, piled high with thinly sliced beef, pickled onions and cheese, will aso be available.
Guests can also indulge in a classic muffaletta, also served with chips and a deli-style pickle.
A brand new restaurant
Guests also have a new four-seasons eatery to which they can look forward. The J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard at American Family Field will feature a functioning onsite brewery as well as a menu chock-full of well executed accessible favorites, along with a playful cocktail menu and great Left Field views.
The new venue – formerly known as the Restaurant to Be Named Later – was announced last December. But we got a preview of some of the new comfort food focused eats earlier this month. You can check out those details – from shareable buckets of wings and signature fried chicken dinners to a Friday fish fry – right here.
We’ll also be giving you a preview of the upgraded venue later this week.
