Just in case the refreshingly gorgeous weather this past weekend wasn't enough to get you eyeing the upcoming summer months, here's some more good news to put you in the mood: Today, NEWaukee announced the dates for its fourth annual Night Market, a growing summer tradition Downtown.
This year's dates – one Wednesday night a month – are:
- June 14
- July 12
- Aug. 16
- Sept. 13
Hosted from 5 to 10 p.m. on West Wisconsin Avenue between 2nd Street and 4th Street, the NEWaukee Night Market is a free, open-air market that gathers Downtown some of Milwaukee's finest merchants and vendors – in arts, crafts, food and more – for a cozy, comfortable night in the city and under the stars, surrounded by live local music, delicious dishes, activities for the entire family, a beer garden and people from all corners of the vibrant Cream City community.
Need more convincing? Here's how the Night Market looks in action, captured on camera by our own Andy Tarnoff.
For vendors looking to apply to sell their wares, applications and more information are available on NEWaukee's website. The call for applications will close on Monday, March 20.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
