It’s time to get your fix at Red Light Ramen, 1749 N Farwell Ave. The pioneering ramen shop, which has been serving up savory bowls since launching as a pop-up style concept in 2013, has announced that it will be closing up shop.
As announced on social media, the ramen shop’s final day of service will be Thursday, July 13.
“Dear friends," the posts on social media read, "The winds of change are blowing and it is with enormous gratitude that we announce we are closing our little ramen shop after almost 10 incredible years. What started with two pots and friends standing in the old Ardent kitchen became a wonderful space that gathered friends and helped us serve food to our wonderful Milwaukee community. Now it is time to turn the page. With heavy but grateful hearts we announce that our last day open will be Thursday, July 13. Please join u over the next couple of week to say farewell but also to celebrate this wonderful space. And not to worry, we won’t completely go away… stay tuned!!”
Red Light Ramen, which first opened as an after-hours concept at Ardent before moving into its own space next door in 2016, was the first ramen shop to open in the Milwaukee area, followed closely by Tochi Ramen in Shorewood. As one of the first, the concept paved the way for numerous others in its wake while earning both local and national accolades.
Red Light Ramen is open daily through July 13 with hours from 5 to 10 p.m.
