On March 15, B93.3 and Bark N’ Scratch Outpost teamed up for the first annual "Bark Madness" presented by Wilde Subaru.
Listeners are urged to vote weekly for their favorite "M-V-Pup" from local shelters in a bracket-style contest. With the help of places like HAWS, Elmbrook Humane Society, Wisconsin Humane Society and MADACC, the organizers recruited an all-star team full of friendly dogs up for adoption.
"We're all big animal lovers over here at B93.3, and we're happy to have created Bark Madness to bring awareness to pups that have been up for adoption longer than usual in local shelters around Milwaukee. Our goal is to help these pups (and of course, the others in the shelters) find their forever homes," says Emily Kurszewski, Promotions Director for Milwaukee Radio Alliance.
Since the start of Bark Madness, nine of the 16 dogs have been adopted.
There are plenty of pups still in need of a walking-playing-eating-napping buddy and the madness runs through Thursday, April 6.
By voting, participants are eligible to win prizes from Bark N’ Scratch Outpost, Bentley’s Pet Stuff, NutriSource, Best Breed, Stella & Chewy’s and more for their own pup or donate to a shelter of their choice.
Plus, the winning pup in Bark Madness will receive the grand prize trophy — a gift basket of toys and treats.
As of now, dogs Rocco from MADACC, Foxy Chiquita from Wisconsin Humane Society, Diamond from HAWS and Luke from Elmbrook Humane Society are still in the running for the M-V-PUP title.
Check in on Monday to see who advances to the finals and who will be crowned M-V-PUP on April 6th.
"The support from the community and the four shelters we're working with has been amazing," says Kurszewski. "We're happy to say this promotion has already been successful, but our work isn't done here yet."
