Tabletop games are becoming more and more popular, from old classics to new. No matter what your crowd, there's a game to fit it. I brought three with me to a segment with Thema Ponton at WISN to kick start your game night!

Sushi Go!

I've written about this one before, and it remains a solid choice for children or adults looking for a light, quick game. Build yourself a sushi dinner with this card game (the small cards are great for small hands) and enjoy the fun artwork and light gameplay. It's a great game to teach kids about probability and basic strategy. It also introduces the idea of card drafting, which comes up in a lot of other strategy games as well.

Pandemic

Fight disease with your friends! This game is cooperative, so everyone wins or everyone loses. Players work together to travel the world, researching and fighting disease while trying to find a cure. Pandemic plays differently every time and has an adjustable difficulty level so it's never just the same old game. It's a new classic that's sure to remain popular for a long time.

Game of Thrones

Based on the wildly popular books and TV show, Game of Thrones stays true to the story while immersing players in a challenging battle for the Iron Throne. Thematic and beautifully made, the game is a definite winner among heavier strategy games. It's not a great fit for beginners as there's a lot to keep track of and the longer gameplay (most times you'll overrun the box's 3-hour estimate), but among tabletop fans it's one of the best games out there.
